Here at Tall Trees Antiques in Hereford we have This Stunning Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Chest is in great condition with a String Inlaid Edged Rectangular Top sat above Two Dummy Drawers that Pull out and Fold Down by Pressing the Two Brass Buttons at either end opening to reveal a fitted Interior and a Tan Leather Insert Writing Surface with Gold Tooling, this interior comprises Two Pull out wavy Drawers sat above Three Pigeon Holes Either side, flowing down to Two Small Drawers and One Larger Drawer Below these again either side, all with String Inlay and Brass Handles, the middle section comprising Two Fixed Panels with Inlay and One Opening Door to which there is a Working Lock with Key, adorned with a Shell Motif Inlay, the door opens to reveal a False Back, and a Button in the upper part allowing this whole Middle Section to slide out Revealing Four Small Secret Drawers to the Rear, all sliding smoothly, fitted with Brass Handles, One of which is broken on the ring part, (bottom Left Drawer) but you are still able to open an close the drawer, there is good Stay Hinges to the main Drawer at each end.
Below this Wonderful Top Unit there are Three Graduated Drawers all of Dovetailed Construction and running Smoothly, fitted with Brass Escutcheon's and Handles, lined with Oak Bases, all coming to rest upon Four Bracket Shaped Feet!
