Antiques in Hereford, Tall Trees Antiques in Herefordshire,
This Pretty Edwardian Mahogany Inlaid Bonheur De Jour is in great condition having Three Central small Drawers of Dovetailed Construction, with string inlay and fitted with Lovely Brass Handle Knobs, with Two Doors either side which are inlaid with a lovely Leaf and Flower (Mother of Pearl) arrangement, opening to reveal a compartment with fitted shelf, both doors have Working Locks to which there is a Key. A fold Over Writing Surface fitted with Green Baize sits in front of the drawers, above a Large Central Drawer, again with String Inlay and Brass Handle Knobs, supported by shaped brackets flowing into four Square Tapering Legs all with String Inlay, united by a Cross Stretcher coming to rest upon four pad feet. There is a slight Warp in the fold out part of the writing surface at one end as can be seen in the photographs, however this does not impede the function or use of the surface and obviously has been there for some time. Overall a beautiful piece of furniture made by craftsmen of the past.
