This Stunning Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Chest is in great condition having a Rectangular Moulded Edged Top with String Inlay, above a Secretaire Drawer fitted with a lovely Interior comprising of Eight Arched Pigeon Holes with Six Small Drawers Below, adorned with String Inlay and fitted with Brass Pull Handles, and Two Small Cupboards at either end, the doors to these have beautiful Shell Style Inlays fitted with Locks to which there are keys for each, however the Keyholes are worn with use, but still are working. The Fall is released via a working button to the right hand side which works and locks perfectly, and has had a replacement Green Felt Writing surface at some point. The Hinges all work Fine. This Top Secretaire Has a Working Lock to which there is a Key.
Below the Top Drawer are Three Graduated Drawers with Original Linings, of Dovetailed Construction, all running smoothly and fitted with Wooden Turned Knob Handles. Each Drawer is adorned with Symmetrical String Inlays and Lovely Escutcheons. The Two front Corners also have string Inlays all coming to rest upon Bracket feet Interspaced by a Shaped Apron. This really is a Beautiful piece of furniture with just some minor Professional Veneer repairs here and there and One Dry plank joint to each side but solid. A great Practical Focal Point to grace any room in the Home.
