We have just had this come in to Tall Trees Antiques in Hereford, this Stunning Victorian Oak & Iron Silver Chest Trunk is in great condition having a lovely Patina, and bearing the Property Brass Name plate of Capt. R.H.Rose, together with the Famous Brass Name Plate of Carrington & Co Silversmiths,130 Regent St. London.W.,Originally founded in 1780 on London’s famed Regent Street, Carrington & Company operated as Court Jewellers, with Royal Warrants obtained from Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, Edward VII, and George V, as well Tsar Nicholas I and II and Queen Alexandra of Russia. Today, heritage Carrington pieces can be found in the finest museums, auction houses and wardrobes of the most tasteful and elegant women the world over. The Chest is made of Oak & Iron Bound, with Original Clasps and Handles, Good Hinges and Stay, the Interior has some of the Original Paper and has been relined with Green Felt. All in all a lovely piece of Classic English Craftsmanship steeped in History with a very practical use.
