Great storage just Oozing Character!

Here at Tall Trees Antiques in Hereford we have this Stunning Georgian Mahogany Linen Press in great condition having a Rectangular, Ogee shaped moulding Cornice that lifts off, flowing into Two Panel Doors below with Flame Mahogany Panels enclosed by Edge Banding and Four Quarter Veneer Panels in each corner, each fitted with Escutcheons, a Working Lock to which there is a Key and a Brass Central Cover Strip. These Doors open up to Reveal two Sliding Trays and a Fitted Brass Rail. Below the Doors there is Four Graduated Large Drawers with Lovely Veneers, all of Dovetailed construction, fitted with Escutcheons, Brass Oval Handles, good Oak Bases and running smoothly, all coming to rest upon four Splayed Feet interspaced by a Shaped Apron. There are a couple of repairs to the right hand side where the hinges attach to the carcass, but these are all solid and Hinges working fine. All in all a stunning example of fine Craftsmanship with lovely Veneers and patina and great for storage. The Top Cornice Lifts off, and the Press splits in Two for ease of transportation. All can be viewed at Herefordshire Antiques @ Radway Bridge Garden Centre, Hereford. HR1 3RX.
